(dress: Promod - shirt: Stradivarius - bag: Topshop - ring: H&M - shoes: Funky Shoes - nails: E.L.F. Nail Polish in Mint Cream)

To tell you the truth, I've been having some trouble with my summer outfits. My beloved heat makes layering almost impossible and admittedly, this leaves me feeling a bit lost. Wearing only a top + skirt/shorts or a simple dress makes me feel kind of two-dimensional, if you know what I mean. Other dressing dilemmas include the fear of looking boring or too plain and simple vs. looking like I tried too hard and threw every possible trend on. As far as this is concerned, I still prefer simplicity to being a fashion victim, grabbing anything the money-hungry industry will feed me. Oh no, my need to sharpen and maintain my own individual style strongly resists that foolish mentality; actually, The Need (sorry, I read Darkly Dreaming Dexter on holidays) is now stronger than ever. I wonder what that will result in. Let's just wait and see.

This is a nice outfit. Not too heavy for the summer months. I love those sandals of yours!

I think you look lovely - overthinking it is probably why you feel that way - I sometimes find a light cardigan is the best addition, not too little, not too much

This outfit is really cute. I agree the summer heat can really bring out the two dimensional dressing. I mean, that's okay as long as it's your style and your comfortable. I was at that point in a few months ago, and I found reinventing/redoing my closet really helped with my wardrobe resurface. :)

I know this feeling very well...the results have been either finding the lightest layering pieces possible or going balls out with accessories of the shiny kind. Simple is always better when it comes to clothing, IMO.

I lurve this outfit. =D
