Argh

Just some quick thoughts about some stuff that's been annoying me lately ...

I've been feeling pretty uninspired for quite some time now. Instead of venturing boldly into the unknown, I go for looks that I know I can pull off easily and that pisses me off. But it's not just my clothes and outfits, it's also the fashion/style (whatever you prefer to call them) blogs that just don't impress me much these days. I remember I used to check them out for endless hours, amazed by the fascinating combos those ladies would come up with regularly. But that fascination is pretty much a thing of the past. It seems to me that nowadays there are really few blogs worth the hype and admiration, but these blogs are usually underrated while some boring artsy fartsy crap easily gets several thousand followers. I just can't fucking stand to see blogs popular (merely) for the owner's pretty face, their ability to buy expensive, often unbelievably overpriced stuff (so what if it's fugly, it cost a lot!) and/or their dressing which too often results in looking like a homeless and/or psychotic person. I despise the double standards - when _____ (insert a name of a very popular, but not really all that blogger) wears something awfully pretentious that actually looks like a bunch of bowels topped with vomit, everybody almost dies of awe, but if _____ (insert a name of a promising, but not yet very renowned blogger) tried the same thing, no one would care much. I also fucking hate it how everybody's lusting over the same stuff (no matter how horrendous it might be) and doing the same fucking thing because it's in, even though it looks (or makes them look) like total crap. I call that the "eat shit, millions of flies can't be wrong" syndrome and I believe there's a special ring of hell reserved for people who do that.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, was pretty much all I wanted to say. Your thoughts on the subject are very welcome.

i agree!! i started to look for inspiration in models and editorials, blogs don`t do it for me anymore. but best of all is to create your own style ;) i think you have that!

dunno bout you but as u can see my blog's sleepin concerning fashion/clothing/etc. things so i'm probably kinda in the same period...i suggest u dive into art/music/photography/architecture/literature/etc for inspiration or just start bitchin bout what you dislike more particularly :) or just start doing sth else here?!
i started considering my blog like somekinda dumpster - i put EVERYthing i feel i need to get outta me there :)
so yeah that's my point of view :)

oh and btw: i love love love those miumiu sandals u disliked @yr tumblr... just that i prefer them with other prints like birds instead of these flowers

Hmm I know what you mean. There a couple famous bloggers that I just don't think deserve the praise they get and it's rather annoying.

Love this post.

Oh I FEEL you! Yes it is frustrating. And no, there isn't much insparation out there. It is so easy to get caught up in the hype of a new pair of shoes, or nail polish color But....it will all turn us into lemmings, won't it? And that's not what blogging is all about. I really thank you for posting this; and for helping me out when I was down.

Thank you.

Surprise, surprise - I agree once again with you babe. I really find boring that race with fashion and having every single new shoe that designers spit out, no matter how ugly it is. I keep up with few lovely blogs that are not big and that's why I love them even more. They have some spark and I think I would love to hang out with those girls.

How quickly we came from fascination with blogs to satiation, don't you think?
